Tracking

Click to view larger imageTracking fields for the AWMA Championship are privately owned and can only be used from October 20 through October 22, 2006. A map will be available at the host hotel that will mark the areas prohibited to practice.

Any Handler and/or Owner of a dog entered in the 2006 AWMA National Championship will be automatically disqualified if that Handler and/or Owner is attempting to practice track any dog/s from October 14 through October 22, 2006 in the areas marked for the AWMA Championship 2006. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Practice tracking fields will be made available to all handlers of the AWMA Championship who will bw participating in Tracking exercises. These fields are similar to the tracking fields that will be used for the competition. Directions to the practice fields will be made available at the host hotel.

Assigned tracking flights depart 6:30am sharp from the parking lot of the host hotel on Saturday October 21, 2006 and on Sunday October 22, 2006. Do not be late. The flight leader will not wait.

Obedience and Protection

Dogs must be shown on a "fur-saver" type collar only. No leather and/or nylon collars will be permitted. Handlers must carry a 3 to 3.5 foot leash during the obedience and protection phases outside of the dog's views (Exception to this rule applies only for dogs entered for the BH-Title.)

Registration

All Competitors must sign in with the Trial Secretary at the Host Hotel on Tuesday October 17, 2006, Wednesday October 18, 2006, or Thursday October 19, 2006 between 8:00am to 12:00pm each day. Please bring the required documentation with you when you sign in. All competitors will receive a handler's package.

Stadium Rules

There will be two (2) parking lots available during the event. One lot wll be designated for competitors and officials ONLY. Spectators will be asked to park in the second lot. Each competitor and official will receive a parking sign to be displayed on the dash board of their vehicle. Any vehicle without a parking sign parked in the competitors/officials lot will be asked to move.

Poor House Farm Park is maintained by Berkley County, WV. The PBSWD Club is grateful to be allowed to utilize this facility for the AWMA National Championship 2006 and would like to return for future events. Please help us make a good impression by picking up after your dog and removing your trash.

Practice time is assigned for all competitors. You may sign up for your personal practice time at the host hotel. A member of PBSWD Club will monitor all practice sessions to ensure that all competitors who signed up for a time slot receive an equal and fair amount of practice inside the stadium. There will only be a one-time chance to practice inside the stadium for each competitor. Please use it well and wisely. Each competitor will be called to enter the stadium for practice and then dismissed at the completion of their assigned time slot. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

During practice time there will be no restrictions on training equipment, nor limitations or restriction of any obedience or protection exercises. It is your time to use as you wish.

As of October 20, 2006, performance of any kind of protection training or practice, including agitation of a dog, within the competitors' parking lot will be strictly forbidden. This is both in fairness to your fellow competitor inside the stadium, and for the safety of the spectators.The PBSWD Club has a practice training field for all competitors use throughout the AWMA Championship 2006 without limitations or restrictions of any obedience and protection exercises. Directions to the practice field will be made available at the host hotel.

Any Handler and/ or Owner of a dog entered in the 2006 AWMA National Championship will be automatically disqualified if Handler and/ or Owner of a dog entered in the 2006 AWMA National Championship is attempting intentionally or unintentionally to practice any dog/s outside his/her assigned practice time inside Poor House Farm Park Stadium. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Disqualifications and Dismissals

The IPO rules of the FCI apply for the 2006 AWMA National Championship competition. The Judge has the right to disqualify the handler on grounds of poor sportsmanship, carrying of motivational objects, violations against trial rules and regulations, or animal protection rights or other ill-natured actions.

The Inquiry Chairman has the right to disqualify the handler on grounds of violation to the handler rules and regulations of the 2006 AWMA National Championship.
